We apologize for an inconvenience, the mail delivery delay and sporadic SMTP connectivity was caused by a large volumes junk e-mail in conjunction with the bounce back messages targeting several of our customer's domains. As the result, we had to enable rate control to prevent server overloading. In some instance you may have had issues connecting to our mail server using SMTP protocol due to maximum number of available connections being used use concurrently.
We have implemented number of steps to prevent incoming bounce back message flood from reaching our servers and causing a denial of service condition to occur. However, it may take several hours for messages pending in the delivery queue to clear as we have temporarily reduced the maximum delivery rate in order to stabilize the message spool.
Currently mail service is functioning correctly, the average delivery delay is about 18 minutes due to the emergency measures we have implemented. We anticipate resuming normal mail operation by the afternoon hours. Please refrain from opening multiple support tickets and/or making support calls regarding this issue as it will only defer available resources from resolving this problem.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.
