    email settings

I have searched the knowledge base

I can seen to get my outlook to send messages through my SMTP server.  It logs on just fine to the pop3 incomming but cant send a test message

So how do use Outlook to collect mail and send mail

    I get this message:

Send test e-mail message: Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).

I assume that the incomming and outgoing mail servers are the same login details and I am using admin@mydomain.com and the password.

I can with these details login to the webmail

    Cheers

    Hi,

What error message are you getting when you try to send from Outlook, ie 570.1.1 Relaying not permitted or similar.

The error message should guide us to what needs adjusting.

    Re: email settings

You may want to check with your ISP regarding outbound SMTP (25) port blocking. It is a common practice for residential Internet service providers to block outbound port 25 in attempt to prevent spread of viruses and spam. Typically they allow outbound mail relay only through their SMTP servers using standard port 25. If this is the case with your ISP, you have two options:

    1. Configure your e-mail client to use your ISPs SMTP server for outbound mail, you can still connect to our POP3/IMAP4 servers to retrieve your e-mail.
    2. Use alternative port 825 to relay outbound e-mail to our servers. You will have to specify the port number 825 in the profile configuration of your Outlook. Please note; not all outlook versions support this, I believe Outlook 2003 and newer do have this option.
