Service Issue on Webserver CLE02WEB14

Our call center operations office will be moving this weekend to a new and larger building we have leased in Avon Lake OH. There will be no service disruptions as this move only affects our customer support operations. Our phone support will be offline on Saturday March 31st. We plan to resume regular customer operations on Monday at our new location. In the meantime if you cannot contact us via the 1-800 phone number, please open a support ticket instead. Phone Support Temporarily Unavaliable

E-Mail Server Maintenance

We are performing a volume replication on a primary storage array currently servicing out mail server. This operation will complete in 4 to 6 hours and will result in allowing us to online a larger and faster mail storage SAN unit. In the mean time all mail service has been stopped, all inbound e-mail messages will be spooled and delivered once the services are restored.

DDoS Attacks and Intermittent Outages

We are experiencing series of DDoS attacks starting Monday morning January 9th. Although we able to partially mitigate source of DDoS and block malevolent traffic, attackers are constantly changing vectors. Presently we have several web servers offline as they been identified as targets. We offline targeted servers to prevent entire network from being overloaded by large volumes of DDoS traffic.

We believe these attacks are also affecting number of other hosting companies. We have received feedback from our customers that have websites hosted elsewhere and are experiencing similar DDoS. We believe attackers are mass targeting web servers across the internet in attempt to execute malicious scrips that allow them to DDoS other servers. At this junction it is not clear who is behind this DDoS attack, however it is clear the scale of this extends to 10s if not 100s of thousand of servers.

Currently we are working hard to control the collateral damage as much as possible. If your site is inaccessible, it may be due to the server it is being hosted on is currently being targeted. This condition may last anywhere between 4 to 6 hours. These DDoS attacks appear to be launched and coordinated based on some schedule. We have dedicated all efforts to hardening servers and firewalls to minimize impact on our customers. Please be patient, we are working on resolving these issues.

Emergency Server Maintenance on CLE02WEB07

Our technicians have been dispatched to our CLE02 datacenter to replace hard disks and rebuild the RAID Array. We will post updates to this forum thread as we have more information available.

Issues accessing email on shared hosting email server (mail.ihostasp.net)

Earlier our technicians detected an issue on our email server which was preventing new connections to the server. When we attempted to restart services after making modifications to the email server, some services failed to start. Our technicians are continuing to work on this issue and intend to restore service on our shared hosting email server as soon as possible.

Cle02 Data Center Issue

We are currently experiencing an issue in our Cle02 data center that is effecting a handful of servers including both web and database services. If you are experiencing issues with your hosting services at this time then it is most likely related to this issue. The majority of servers are online and operating as normal but there are a handful that are not. We have dispatched one of our 2nd level technicians to the data center to correct this issue as soon as possible. We do not anticipate this issue to carry on for long. We will post updates to this issue as we have them. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may cause and greatly appreciate your patience while it is resolved.

Cle02 Data Center Issue

We are currently experiencing an issue with our server racks within the Cle02 data center. This is currently effecting all web and database servers hosted in the Cle02 data center as well as our shared mail server to all iHost customers. A 2nd level technician has been dispatched to the Cle02 data center to investigate and resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We will keep this issue updated with more information as we receive it from the technicians at the data center. We hope to have this issue resolved as quickly as possible.

CLE02 Scheduled Maintenance

Starting 10:30 PM, July 23rd we will be performing a scheduled maintenance in CLE02 data center. During this time will we be powering down all servers in CLE02 in order to switch power circuits to new ATS units (Automatic Transfer Switch). This is necessary upgrade in order to increase reliability of our network in case of power grid fluctuations or scheduled power grid maintenance. The new ATS units will allow single corded servers and network devices to be powered from two independent power circuits and gracefully fail-over in case of power disruptions.

Duration: We anticipate this process will take approximately 45 minutes to one hour to complete. During this time some or all services in CLE02 may become unavailable for a short period of time. We have already installed all the necessary hardware and are simply gracefully shutting down servers in order to switch the power circuits.

Issue on Cle02web07 Web Hosting Server

This issue and maintenance may cause websites hosted on that web server to perform slower than usual or not be accessible for short durations. Customer Call Center Office Power Outage

Our customer support office building has lost power due to transformer overload. As the result our employees have been sent to work from home and will not be able to take support calls until power is restored. This does not affect our data-center operations which are located at a different facility.
