    E-Mail Server Maintenance

We are performing a volume replication on a primary storage array currently servicing out mail server. This operation will complete in 4 to 6 hours and will result in allowing us to online a larger and faster mail storage SAN unit. In the mean time all mail service has been stopped, all inbound e-mail messages will be spooled and delivered once the services are restored.

    Re: E-Mail Server Maintenance

We have successively replicated mail server storage array and have switched the primary storage to a larger and faster SAN unit. At this point we have approximately 10K messages in a spool waiting for delivery. Until spool size shrinks to below 200 messages, there will be mailbox delivery delays on the inbound messages. The delivery backlog accumulated during the maintenance downtime and is now being processed. We anticipate delivery queue to reach near real time level by the end of the day.
